Retail giant Walmart is planning to open its first stores in New York City and Washington, DC That’s got local politicians and activists up in arms. “Walmart, keep your plantation because there are no more slaves,” says New York City Councilman Charles Barron. Walmart will make criminals of our children, argues Washington DC commissioner Brenda Speaks, because “kids are kids” so they’ll shoplift and then “security will grab them.” If we’re tricked into welcoming Walmart through our city gates “wrapped up in a shiny package,” explains New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, it will take over and destroy us. So what’s getting anti-Walmart activists so riled up? The answer: cheap groceries. Written and produced by Jim Epstein, with help from Joshua Swain. Narrated by Nick Gillespie. Canada’s Worst Job Loss in 2 Years Due to Global Crisis 2011
www.peoplestandup.ca Ouch. Or as chief economist Avery Shenfeld at CIBC World Markets put it: “Suddenly the jobs market doesn’t look quite so rosy in Canada.” It sure doesn’t. After a year in which employment growth remained inexplicably strong through thick and thin, it came thumping back to earth in October with the loss of 54000 jobs. That’s the biggest monthly decline since early 2009, when we were in the middle of a recession. As a result, national unemployment ticked up to 7.3 per cent from 7.1 per cent in September. There were particularly big jumps in Quebec, to 7.7 per cent from 7.3, and Ontario, to 8.1 per cent from 7.6. On the other hand, the details of this report suggest that it’s more likely to reflect a temporary soft spot in economic growth than the beginning of a long slump. The most likely scenario is that Canada – blessed by the presence of plentiful oil and the absence of a housing crisis – has finally seen its unusually strong economy dragged down by faltering exports to the US Given this, growing signs of a return to health south of the border provide reason to believe that Canadian job creation will climb back to a healthier pace over the coming year. When we look back at Canada’s volatile monthly job numbers over this year, we can see a sharp decline in the trend of employment growth. Over the past three months, average job growth was flat. By comparison, the first three months of this year showed robust average growth of 27600. The major problem …

Did walmart pay the makers at south park to advertise?
I’m watching an episode of south park about how addicting their “low prices” are. I was wondering did walmart pay the makers of south park to advertise them? Or did south park ask to put walmart’s name in their show?
The Creative Lady’s My Worst Job VR to whoissugar | De Beukelaer Cookie Factory
After graduating from Alcorn State University, I spent a year working various jobs because we were in a recession and jobs in my field were hard to come by. Without a doubt, I landed the worst job I’ve ever had in the De Beukelaer Cookie Factory! I was also a perfume spray girl and it was a close second. I don’t count it because that only lasted till lunch time day one and I quit. Working in the cookie factory was like the episode of I Love Lucy when she and Ethel worked in the candy factory! I think I lasted a couple of weeks before I quit! I learned to respect the laborers of the world. Those jobs are hard and they are expected to produce results.

What happens if I don’t pay walmart (Bennett law) the 250 I supossably owe them after shoplifting?
I am 17 and I shoplifted from walmart, around $40 worth, I went to court and owe them 250. But now I’m getting calls from Bennett law saying I owe them for civil damages even tho I gave all the stuff back. Another 250. I don’t have that kind of money which is the reason I had to shoplift to begin with.. What happens if I only pay court and not walmart??
