I’m 45 & have had various positions over the years from military, Corrections officer, & Banking. But for the last 15 years I have been a Garage Door Tech – I have averaged $50000 a year not including about $15000 extra in side work yet when I’m in my uniform I see people frowning at me because I might be dirty or I tell females what I do and their not impressed. But then I notice these Bitches are usually broke!

Instead of attacking education, why dont we attack the fractional lending system in which a go between gets rich off of outrageous interest for lending us our money while incurring zero risk or contribution.
I went to Columbia undergrad and was challenged to point of exhaustion. I went to a small private school for grad school and struck A’s without ever opening up a book.
Lets make sure our schools are challenging and lets produce AMERICAN scientists, chemists, law clerks, botanists etc.

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
    -Confucius

Search what YOU LOVE TO DO.
ONLY go to college if you have the drive reach you PASSION. (Of course if you need it!)
College is for those who already invested in themselves,

College is good. Some people are not meant to be college students. I’m not saying it is impossible for anybody to go, but the way I see it, college is a place to enhance the strengths one already has, not to develop interests. If you are going to school to make more money, think about it twice before you go. I want to stress “COLLEGE= DOESN’T GUARANTEE HIGH INCOME.” My advice is find YOU PASSION! Invest time in your passion, and you will much more successful. If you need college for it, then go!

Only the poor and the stupid are making the argument that college isn’t important. If you get a worthless degree and fail to land a job with it due to lack of social skills, the blame is solely rested on yourself.

If that really was your argument, I’d agree with a large part. However, that’s NOT your argument. Remember, you also said the following:
“Most employers aren’t impressed with degrees”
    – Unsupported nonsense.
“1000 new kids get their degrees every year”
    - Insane idiocy.
“Work experience is the New Degree”
    – Wrong. You clearly haven’t seen the data.
“Don’t be fooled what the schools are telling you.”
    – Insane conspiracy nonsense.
You can’t backpedal now. You’ve exposed your insanity.

Im not saying learning or education is bad. All im saying is that students are getting in thousands of dollars in debt for majors such as philosophy that has no big payoff in the end. The most you can do in philosophy is teach it again to students. Thats about it…So it makes no sense to go all in and get in thousands of dollars of debt to get a degree in a field that wont produce the big payoff that these schools claim..so dont think im saying education is bad. It all has to do with money…s

Oh, and in case I didn’t illustrate the irony enough (for those too dumb to understand):
I meant “stupifying” in the urban slang way that I wrote it, which is an offshoot of the technically correct spelling of “stupefying.” In other words, the ironic thing is that the morons are actually making other people dumber.

“why dont you go do something positive with yourself?”
Yeah, like what? Like encouraging people to get LESS education in a world that is demanding MORE education… like you’re doing?
More irony from an idiot who cannot string five words together without making a dozen errors… advising people to get LESS education.
    The irony is stupifying.

“Most employers aren’t impressed with degrees”
    – Um, no.
    “Degrees are diluted”
    – And your solution is to advise people to get LESS schooling??!! Wow. That’s about as backward as it gets. In a world where more and more education is demanded, the candidates need MORE education to stand out and make a difference, NOT LESS.
“1000 new kids get their degrees every year”
    – Wow. Just wow. How can I reply to this idiotic irony?
    “Do not be fooled”
    – Yes, it’s a worldwide conspiracy to fool YOU. Sigh.

Riiighhtt… every HR department in every large corporation still has charted data and internal policies that pay grads higher than non-grads.
Your logic is so backward, it’s clear that YOU need more schooling to learn to think straight. You’re saying that in a competitive environment where higher and higher education is required, and college degrees are equivalent to the high school diplomas in years past, the solution is to get LESS schooling? Sigh.
Do you also put out a fire with gasoline?

Some people here are completely missing the point of this video. It’s undeniable that people with degrees make more money than people without (on average). EVERY study indicates the same result. Tax return data verifies it.
The point of this video isn’t trying to say “don’t go to college” (despite the misleading headline). The point is: if you’re already doomed to manual labor your whole life because you lack intellectual capacity, don’t bother with college, just go to a trade school.

@Rockethead7 Why do you need to go to school to learn something? The answer is “You Don’t”….Unless your going to be an engineer, Doctor, or a judge, don’t waste your time! Philosphy, sociology, psychology, theres no good money in those fields cuz the world doesn’t buy philosophy books, or pay for psychologists…The world buys ipods, Xbox’s, medicine, and entertainment…And the engineers and doctors creating those things are the ones who need degrees and a plethora of knowledge…Alot of the

An idiot who can’t string together a few sentences without making a dozen errors in grammar says that college is a ripoff. What a surprise.
What a backward mentality you have. Every large corporation has written charts demonstrating that college grads are paid higher and reach higher positions of authority. There are countless career paths across many industries where it’s written policy that grad = $10-$20K higher than non-grad for the same job. But, yeah, *I* am the delusional one?

Most employers aren’t impressed with degrees anymore. Maybe 20 years ago… Degrees are diluted…1000 new kids get their degrees every year…Nothing special…Work experience is the New Degree…Times are changing fast…Don’t be fooled what the schools are telling you. You think they don’t enjoy over-charging you for books and classes? They love it!!! Lol If i worked for them, id preach school to students all day! Lol
