hey, don’t be too discouraged! Mass sites like monster or careerbuilder never have reached out, simply because so many underqualified people apply. I’d say get a LinkedIn profile, which is much more professional (and less of a chance you’ll encounter shady characters). Better yet, try to find a creative staffing agency or internship somewhere. Best thing is to cold-call the companies and ask for HR. Good luck!
Did this happen to be AIL? The same type of call happened to me after I posted my resume on Monster – they said they were interested in my ESL tutoring experience. I was skeptical, so after I made the appointment, I googled the company and found out it’s sort of a pyramid scheme. I didn’t even bother showing up to the interview.
Turns out they call almost everyone on Monster & try to hire ppl to sell life insurance – catch is, you have to pay $ before you can start the job. “Training costs.”
man, insurance companies always call me. even through it says business manager on everything…and an economics major. they just want anyone and everyone i think
I use to get cold calls all the time from Monster when I was looking for a job back in the days. These entry level sales jobs are really for anyone willing to put up with crap! Good thing you didn’t go for it. Good luck in your search!
Ehh, it was on the table at one point. Maybe in the future I will. I would love to teach videography. Not kindergarten here though. And, yeah, any idea who dislikes the vids?
Dude, just become a teacher. Weren’t you a teacher in South Korea? In all of your videos there is always dat one dislike, hmmmm. I wonder who dat could be?
I get a lot of emails from recruiters through monster that have absolutely nothing to do with my field or what I have any experience with. I think they just do blanket resume pulls in their general area and send out (or call) everyone in hopes of getting a few good new people. Or they are scams – lots of them are scams >.>
just got back went great think I might get it…butttttttt the dude want some references from me which I don’t have now have i have to call my college to get some professors to do that for me by tomorrow…What sucks is that i’ve been already trying to contact some of my professors and no luck and to get by tomorrow I might not be lucky this might hold me back shit
LOL one of those jobs? haha what a joke, I remember when I was 18years old doing that kind of crap job. They picked you because no one wants the job. It’s a scam. Good luck dude.
